What is Ultrafiltration? Ultrafiltration is a form of membrane filtration. The process involves physical separation where suspended solids and solutes of high molecular weight are retained while water and low molecular weight solutes pass through the membrane. In the past decades, membrane separation processes has become one of the emerging technology with rapid growth. Hollow Fibre Membrane is one of the most popular ultrafiltration membranes used in the industries. Some of the advantages of De Zon hollow fibre ultra filtration units are: · No waste products: The basic principal of hollow fibre is filtration; therefore it does not create any waste from its process, except the unwanted element in the feed stream. This can help to reduce the cost of operation to handle the waste. · Large surface per unit volume: Hollow fibre has large membrane surface per module volume. Thus, the size of hollow fibre is smaller than other type of membrane, but it is able to provide higher performance. · Low operation cost: Hollow fibre need low operation cost in comparison to other types of units, on an average less than $ 0.0005 per liter portable water!
Examples of Materials that can be filtered by Hollow Fibre Ultra Filtration System: · Viruses · Bacteria · Algae · Cryptosporidium · Guardia · Protein · Iron Rust · Carbon · Pollen
